The first lunar NYE on my current job. Alot of stuff is really unofficial, esp the self-declaring of half-day. The despatcher still call us, calling us to take calls. All of us juz ignored the calls after 12. Wasted my time in calling the customers regarding the calls as most of them is working only half-day. All of them are more anxious to get off earlier, then getting the problem solved. All of them deferred to either fri, or the next mon. After calling the 2nd customer who defered, i got really fed up, and advised the despatcher to call the customer b4 despatching the call to us. When i got the 3rd call, i was ready to head down and get the problem settled. Luckily i called the customer beforehand, and realised that the customer is leaving at an hour's time. Giving up at the despatch, i totally ignored the calls from the despatch. Thus passing my afternoon, without any incident.
Had my 'early' reunion dinner together with some of my relatives at GoodWood Park Hotel. The ambience is ok, but the food is so-so. It's been some time since i last saw them, aside of getting their PC fixed, that is. Amazingly they came up with the idea of having the reunion dinner together. As all of my aunts have their own families, the norm is to have their own reunion dinner wif their own families. After my grandma passed away, alot of things changed. We still have a reunion on the 1st day of new year, where we meet up and gamble all that. On the 2nd day, we would have dim sum together(A tradition started during the time when my grandma is still around). This kind of things don't change. But after the dim sum session, not all of the people around will gather for the 2nd round of gathering.
After the dinner, all of my aunts were planning to meet up. Most of them wants to visit marina boulevard, where they have the riverside events again. Went down together wif them, and walked ard the place(found that they have the same things from last year). Soon afterwards, i left them there, and went to meet up wif some of my frens at chinatown.
It was kinda more of a last min kind of thing. As one of my fren wanted to get some new year stuff there. After some glitches in our communication, we managed to meet up ard 11+. Went to the department store to see some clothes, and the firecrackers started. It's the first time i saw firecrackers, reminded me of having 'range' during my Ns time. Was hit by an idea where they can extend the time of the firecrackers(Instead of having the firecrackers by themselves, can string the end of the firecracker nxt in line to the start of the first one, kinda of a domino effect). After which is the fireworks, ain't as spectacular as the new year's one. From there, we went in to the mass of people, into the heart of chinatown. It's full of people, as expected. But the last time i went there(ard 1 week b4), it still ain't that bad. It's rather surprising to see so much ppl still out there at those wee hours. But considering their 'kiasu-ism' for cheap stuff, mayb not so. In the end, wat i did is juz acc my fren there, walking all around.
Mayb i shouldn't bother those frens ard me all that much. Dunno what came over me, when i asked them on what their plans are for tonite, as i noe that i am not that popular within their own groups. Juz hope that there ain't any repercussions, esp when one or two of them will read double meaning on watever i say or do. Guess i shld take a break from them, for some time. I really shouldn't get too dependent on them anyway.
