Well, this is the 1st time, that i got the reminder for the late payment of utilities. As far as i can remember, if you were late in payment for mobile/internet, Normally, the amount will get snowballed to the next month's billing. At the worst case scenario, the mobile/internet provider, will suspend your line if you don't pay up what you owe for the last month.
But unfortunately, as i just realized, the Utilities doesn't work this way. It will send you a letter of late payment, telling you that there will be an additional charge, just for paying late. And if you didn't pay, it'll directly just cut you off. I heard from my mum that it have been this practice since way back. i must have been dreaming all this while, for i should have realized that we live in a very practical part of the world. In the face of money, morals do take a back seat.
Who cares about the family who pays their bills on time? As long as they themselves is covered, why bother sparing any thought about other people? No wonder the people in the ivory tower will have the gall to say that there are "no beggars" in this place. Guess we must be seeing things..
