The excuses that i can think of, are as follows :-
- Lack of sleep, slept around 3-4+
- Liquor the night before, causing dehydration?
- Lack of running, as in the getting use to the distance part, as i didn't run for a week since the sheares bridge run
- Demotivated by a friend, well.. "why torture yourself?"
- Pushed myself too hard in the beginning, ran way faster than normal, just to keep in pace of the girl(who 'really' can run). And subsequently, can't get back to my normal pace.
- Warm weather, making me feel sluggish
- The whole crowd of people + pathways too small, making
- Unsure of the distance covered, as in didn't check out the route beforehand. Saw the 4km sign, before the 2km one. After which, no halfway point/6km sign, only saw a 8km sign & 9km sign before the end.
- Unsure of the toilet facilities area along running path, i remember seeing one of them only, and that's around 2-3km in the race route. After which, is all the way until the end. -_-"
All in all, i shouldn't have walked. Although i made the same timing as last week, during the sheares bridge run, and finished in 1 hour 7 mins. But then, when once i gave in to walking, it's deemed as failing to keep up to my own expectations of "not giving up". Strange as it may be.
IF i did check out the distance beforehand, i believe that at least i know what to expect. Rather than seeing the never ending running people in front, and get demoralised. But since i didn't check, it's pointless to harp on it.
Sigh, it's at times like this that i gets upset with myself.
