Had been having another lapse in writing. Seems like i am somehow, getting lazier and lazier. Maybe it's just me, having problems writing out thoughts. Thus giving them an untimely demise.
Finally, after so many weeks of busy working. At least daily-wise, the amount of fire-fighting is not that bad. Things do
cock crop up from time to time. And when i thought i can finally catch my breath, to get my stuff done. Now it's about time to go back for the damn reservist. Talk about wasting time and unproductive, guess that's the essence of having a system that predates the dinosaur age. Many people who i know, does take it as having a break from work. An unwilling holiday. They do realise that work will pile up when they are not around though, imagine the backlog you have to clear when you get back. Performance wise, will definitely suffer. And having that to impend your advancement is kinda,
stupid dumb lame unreasonable.
Just updated myself regarding the GST thingy. Seems like, it's another hare-brained idea. A four year "GST Offset Package", for a GST increment for life. What i don't get it is, why can't the GST be
reduced for basic necessities? Wouldn't it be alot more helpful for the lower-income families, who does spend more on their basic necessities than any other thing? The excuses that they provide to not do it are rather of an amusing nature, as in "richer households will benefit more", "cumbersome to implement", etc. The kind of reading that i have been doing, is rather obvious eh?
Kindly be reminded to
apply for the Offset Package though, or you wouldnt be getting it at all. Really wonder how the
illiterate uninformed will survive though. Last i remember, there
are people who missed out on the last package, all because they are illiterate or something. Maybe they will need some reaching out or something, additional chance for the government to advertise their reaching out efforts. Poor CPF board though, having to send "Nearly three-quarters of adult Singaporeans" letters to sign up(Think that's in the millions).
Although i find the So-called GST Offset Package(Welfare is such a
dirty word) amusing, i should hold my tongue in check. Especially when the government is helping to make the 'rich' get richer and poor get poorer. It's rather obvious isn't it? Especially from the reduce in income tax and the increase in GST. Some of the poorer families dun really pay much income tax, especially with their
rather low income(How much can you tax?). Whereas for the richer families, they are going to enjoy an 2% increase in their income, what joy(There are times when i wonder, wtf is CPF going to do for me, when previously, i dun even have enough for daily meals)...
Maybe we shall just keep our eyes peeled, see how things will turn out in the end. i believe sooner or later,
90% of the 6.5 million targeted, will mostly be foreign imports. One big damn rojak.
